Dr. Holmes joined RMC in Fall 2013 after working in Information Technology for 19 years and teaching computer science part-time for eight years. She holds bachelor of science and master of science in computer science and recently completed a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of Montana. Her past work has included database programming, systems design, IT management, and web development. Outside of teaching, her most recent work was in the creative fields of web design and instructional design for online courses; she has also conducted research in usability and online learning.

In the classroom, Dr. Holmes describes herself as being very focused on fundamentals: “My focus is on excellent teaching – making sure new programmers learn the basics of programming and software development. I am so pleased to be working with the next generation of computer scientists!”
